    19 pounds of weight for 21 days of hell. You not only lost weight but you lost bone mass, muscle mass, ruined your matabelism not to mention when you have your first meal, be by a toilet because you are gonna your guts out all day long.

    I have been on a diet completely eliminating processed food, eating 100% natural and execcising 3 times a week, and guess what? I am losing an average of 5 pounds a week.

    Get a life and go on a real healthy plan

    So your saying a 30 day water fast is healthy???? Are you freaking serious. Your body need nutrients. The less you eat and just sit there, cause I promise you no one can have the energy to workout while doing this ridiculous diet, the slower your metabolism gets. WOW you and her are both idiots and I promise you that as soon as she started eating food again she gained it all back.

    Please stop spreading half-truths!
    Read the wikipedia article about fasting, that has a section named “health effects”. It will clear up some of the misunderstandings about human metabolism that you have there.
    What actually happens after the body is depleted of glucose and then glycogen is it starts to metabolise fat. It does this until there is (almost) no fat left, only then should it turn to using protein for energy. I suppose this is exactly what this young lady is trying to achieve.

    you do realize all you have lost is muscle mass because you have deprived your body of essential nutrition. Protein, Vitamins, etc… Your body is in starving mode which means your metabolism is shot to shit. Once you eat anything your body will store it straight to fat to try to survive.

    P.S, I fast to get me off of binge food too, it is the only thing that works for me, moderation DOES NOT WORK for me unless it is like 3 months of not eating that food. But some of us have triggers. Mine is pizza so I don’t eat it as much as I can avoid it is social settings.

    yes i have done 2 in the past. I did it for a few reasons, one was I was out of control binge eating and could not stop, that was number 1, number 2 was to get a grips on my emotions and 3. weight loss which is a nice side effect.
