    that point about ” …
that point about “no blenders in nature” – I think you make a really, really good point with this!! I tried juice fasting and ended up transitioning to water only because it just felt unnatural to ingest so much concentrated fruit, and I did not have the strong detox signs as with water fasting, either.

YES! That is why Dr …
YES! That is why Dr. Herbert Shelton had been very much AGAINST juice fasting!

  5. girlymom77 says:

    You were going …
You were going through a “healing crisis” your body was detoxing, you would have felt better after the healing crisis. But Juice fasting should be done with a combo of fruits & veggies anyway.

  6. skyphor says:

    That’s why you need …
That’s why you need to blend your own juice, because the juice you but is concentrated and contains no fibers.

    How much did you …
How much did you lose during your first week?

  10. ZenErin111 says:

    Don’t be fooled by …
Don’t be fooled by calories from veg juice. Calories from 1 CUP of fruit, veg, or a combination of both can range from 70 to 130 calories, averaging 100 PER CUP. Celery is the ONLY food known to create a “negative calorie” effect [check snopes(dot)com & enter celery]. Also, if you’re not cleansing your liver properly with either a coffee enema or saltwater flush daily, you’re doing your juice fast a disservice. I hope this helps those still interested in trying juice fasting =)

First of all, you rock my socks!
Second of all, I’ve tried fasting on three different accounts, the longest i’ve lasted has been, like, four or five days. Do you have a tip you could give me to stick with it?

Juicing is one of the best things we can do for our bodies as humans. She must have been doing it wrong, because it changes most people’s lives.

    you were feeling …
you were feeling ill because your body was detoxifying.. and it can be really bad.. but if you do it righ, you should know that are all the toxins!.. and yes it does something to your liver.. and everything else in your body!

  18. 0riginalCuT says:

why do you not know …
why do you not know anything what you’re talking about?

  19. angelicearthling says:

    I wouldn’t …
I wouldn’t recommend ‘apple and ginger’ as something to drink on a juice fast. You should have mainly drank vegetable juice, celery, carrot, spinach, kale, lots of greens, and maybe toss an apple in to sweeten it up. But I would stay away from all the fruit juices, and stick with veggie juice. Juice fasting works great for me, I don’t get hungry, I have days where I’m tired and other days I’m full of energy. It’s a great way to detox.

    Get real! …
Get real! Vegetables are for grandmas and grandpas, eat foods rich in grease and sodium when you’re young. Don’t worry about water, fruits and vegetables, we’re not on a diet here.

  21. opaqueheart09 says:

    @fastinggurl31 …
@fastinggurl31 I have PCOS and insulin resistance therefore I go very lightly on the fruit juices. I might add in an apple with some spinach, celery and cucmber. For insulin resistant and diabetic people, it is best to eat our fuit rather than drink it. All the best to you!!!

  22. michanna1211 says:

    it does not work …
it does not work because you are not to fast for longer than 10 days. it is unhealthy. you are normaly only supposed to fast for only 2 to 3 days but 10 is max.

  23. mushulushu says:

    you wouldnt …
you wouldnt recomend this diet. ok i understand that you didnt like it but did you honestly really loose any weight during those 17 days???? be honest =)

  24. bleufuzion says:

    PS anurre5: your …
PS anurre5: your water intake, whether lemon is squeezed into it or not, should ideally be 1oz per lb of body weight. but since that’s nearly impossible for most people, we should be drinking at least 1/2-3/4 our body weight in water. most people feel like their starving when fasting because they’re not drinking enough water between their juice intake.

  25. bleufuzion says:

    anurre5: i’m not …
anurre5: i’m not talking about a lemonade diet, but plain water w/ lemon squeezed in it. lemon water has known cleansing properties, while the carrot/veggie juice provides needed nutrients. you won’t ever starve. i recommend doing such “fasts” under the supervision of a naturopathic doctor or nutritionist w/ similar beliefs. my dad is a naturopathic doctor and our family has seen many chronic diseases healed within a matter of weeks because of vegetable juicing supplemented with lemon water.
