Use Intermittent Fasting to Lose Weight
I wanted to talk to you about how you can use intermittent fasting to lose weight. This is a really interesting diet that is loose enough to attract people to try it, but tough enough to allow you to lose weight. A study looking at this type of eating noticed some amazing results that may prove that this is the diet everyone should be on. People ended up losing weight, even though they were eating the same amount of calories. People produced more hormones to allow them to deal with stress better. People were able to produce insulin and other energy hormones more effectively. Lastly, people were able to handle their health problems much more effectively and therefore were believed to live longer. I want to show you how you can use intermittent fasting to lose weight.
This is the easiest diet when it come to actual rules. You can eat what you want and as much as you want. If it is greasy burgers or birthday cake you like, you’re allowed to have it. There are no restrictions on the food you eat, only the times in which you eat it. You basically have a 24 hour block of time to eat what you want. The next 24 hour block of time is your fast, where you can only have water. Seems a little harsh, but you get used to it very quickly.
Since you can use intermittent fasting to lose weight, you will probably be wondering if it is a natural way to do things. Well, if you look at the hunter and gatherers of past humans, it seems highly probable. Man was forced to hunt and if something was caught it had to be eaten. There was no refrigeration, so it was eaten or wasted. If they didn’t catch anything, they’d just have to go without. That sounds an awful lot like intermittent fasting and I would argue that the body was designed for such eating.

Intermittent fasting?
I was just wondering if intermittent fasting would help me lose weight.
I am 4′ 11" (yeah short!) and 105 lbs. (and chubby =))
If I ate breakfast, lunch, and dinner one day and stopped eating at 6:00 pm and ate nothing the next day until i ate dinner after 6:00 pm, would it help me lose weight?
I feel that intermittent fasting would be healthier as opposed to the 800 calorie limit I’ve been giving myself the past 3 days. Right?
I recently gained 6 pounds without noticing and would REALLY like to lose it (and maybe a little more) for good. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!
btw thx lucie b but do you have any ideas for someone who is unable to eat small meals more often? I eat breakfast at about 6:30-7:00 am and don’t get to eat until like 12:00 pm (b/c of school).
And sry another detail, I had my period when I was 9, and I’m 13 now so unfortunately I think I’m done growing. Also my mom is 5 feet tall and my dad’s 5′ 6.5" so yeah I’m probably done growing…
Under 900 calories will put your body in starvation mode. It will store any food you eat as fat because it doesn’t know when it will be able to eat again. It needs to eat when you are hungry.
The best way to loose weight is to eat less more often. Every couple hours. No less than 1200 calories.

If anything, intermittent fasting would slow your metabolism down. Because you’d go long periods of time, your body would go into starvation mode. That will tell your body to absorb and store any and all fats, causing you to gain weight.
800 Calories a day is NOT enough, especially if you are still growing. The ideal is 2,000 a day- you are not taking in half as many as you need.
If you gained 6 lbs and didn’t notice it- why let it bother you? You are by no means overweight.
If you are truly worried about your weight, talk to your doctor. He went to med school to know about these things- he can tell you the best diet and exercise regimen for your body and lifestyle.
Like I said, your weight is quite healthy. Losing weight is not what you should worry about. Focus on loving your body- how can you not when you think about all the processes going on in your body every moment of every day?
